MusicGigs.org is an organization of working musicians and the venues that hire them, and an online marketplace for hiring local live music. You can watch bands, duos and solo musicians play on video, ask for a free quote, and book and pay in one place.
Acts list for free and keep 95% of every booking. Clients pay the act's price plus a service fee of about 8.3%. MusicGigs holds each payment, releases it to the act 2 days after the event, and refunds the client in full if the act cancels.
It is also where to find live shows and open mic nights near you. Venues join free, and their calendar of shows is brought in automatically from their own website or social media.
MusicGigs.org is based in Austin, Texas, and Austin is where we're starting. Musicians and venues anywhere in the United States can join free and start a network in their own city. As acts join, that city gets its own page: a local directory of musicians, built by the musicians who play there.

Each act sets its own price and shows it on their profile, so you can compare before you ask. Acts on MusicGigs currently list starting rates under $250 an hour to $1,000 an hour, depending on the size of the act. MusicGigs adds a service fee of about 8.3% (at least $7.02, card processing included), shown as its own line before you pay.
Yes. Browsing, watching videos and sending a request are all free. You pay nothing until you book.
You pay once, in full, when you book. MusicGigs holds the money and releases it to the act 2 days after your event ends.
How payments workYou are refunded 100%, including the service fee, however close to the date it happens.
Each act chooses one of three cancellation policies: Flexible, Moderate or Strict. The one shown on your quote applies to your booking, and before you pay, checkout shows exactly what you'd get back if you cancelled. Whatever the policy, your service fee comes back as MusicGigs credit, less the card processing fee the card company keeps, good for 12 months.
