Madame Mackintosh, in their own words.
EPK bio · from Madame Mackintosh's artist profile
Madame Mackintosh (born Brooke Mackintosh) is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and variety-show host based in the Salt Lake City and Morgan, Utah area. She performs under the stage name Madame Mackintosh and works in a style she calls Indie Mountain Soul, drawing from Americana, rock, soul, folk, and pop.
Raised in Salt Lake City, she began singing as a small child. Her mother recalls her singing from the earliest days, and her father taught her piano as soon as she could reach the keys. She started writing songs and teaching herself guitar around age fifteen. At twenty-five she left a conventional job, packed two guitars, her dog, and her cat into a car, and drove to San Diego to pursue music full-time.
In San Diego she entered the local songwriter circuit and released her debut album, Blue Skies Await, in 2007 under the name Brooklyn, produced by Sven-Erik Seaholm. She followed with Monarchs (credited to Seaholm Mackintosh) in 2011 and the self-titled STLA in 2013. Monarchs earned a Best Pop Album nomination at the San Diego Music Awards. Subsequent nominations include Best Local Artist at the Indie Ogden Awards in 2015 and Artist of the Year at the Josie Music Awards in Nashville in 2017.
While living in San Diego she created, booked, promoted, and hosted a recurring variety series that began as “Brooklyn & Friends” in the Gaslamp District and later evolved into the Spice of Life Variety Show. The format continues today, featuring rotating guest artists alongside her own performances. After returning to Utah she expanded the project and began performing more frequently as a solo act, in duo settings, and with a trio known as Madame Á Trois, which includes bassist Randal Palmer and drummer Darren Farnsworth.
On stage she typically handles guitar, percussion, and layered vocals, creating a full sound without additional players when working alone. She also takes requests spanning classic rock, country, Motown, and contemporary pop, filtering familiar material through her own approach. Original songs remain central to her sets.
She is a regular presence at Park City resorts, fine-dining and cocktail venues, corporate events, weddings, and outdoor series across northern Utah. Appearances have included the Davis Arts Council and the Park City Songwriter Festival. She continues to book dates throughout the region while writing new material and maintaining the Spice of Life Variety Show as both host and performer.
